Monday, May 28

Papa, Grama Jo and I are staying in Molly's apartment. It has one room and a bathroom I wanted to take a bath, but she does not have a tub!!!! So we took showers. She has a gray cat named Bentley. He mostly likes to stay under Molly's bed. Papa and Grama Jo sleep in the bed and I have a pallet on the floor on some pillows. This morning I helped Papa clean out Bentley's litter box. I told Papa that water makes pee and food makes poop. He agreed with me. Bentley made a BIG poop, but not as big as the elephant poop we saw at the zoo the other day.

Uncle Josh came over this morning and took a shower. I was explaining to him about spider blood being blue. He did not know that. Grama Jo and I read it in one of my books in the car.
I also told him about star fish. They can loose a leg and grow it back. So can crabs.

We met Molly outside and started walking to the subway. Papa had already been out and bought his coffee this morning. We went under the ground to get to the subway. It was a little scary at first. We had to put money on Uncle Josh's ticket and then go through a turn thing. The trains were loud and fast. Grama Jo told me the tracks were electric and a person could die if they fell onto the tracks. I was careful and stayed back. We got on one subway and then had to ride and get off and get on another. Then we got off and took a taxi to the Museum of Natural History. I was getting excited because I really wanted to see those dinosaurs.

Grama Jo had bought our tickets on line so we did not have to wait. We went in and found a map. Then we went upstairs to the big lobby and saw Brontasaurus. He was hugh and his head was so high we could not get all of him in the picture. Then Grama Jo wanted us to go to a butterfly exhibit. So we did, but I really wanted to see more dinosaurs, so Uncle Josh took me out while Grama Jo, Papa and Molly looked at the butterflys. A butterly landed on Grama Jo! There were lots but I know about butterflys because Beck, Sujina and I raised some last month.

We saw the KING - T Rex. He is really big and has sharp claws. They had lots of different kinds of dinosaur bones. We looked at LOTS. They had a bone you could touch and different exhibits to show teeth, spines and all that stuff. Grama Jo like Stegasaurus the best.

We ate lunch at the museum and I had two big pieces of pizza. Walking a lot makes you hungry. We saw a great blue whale that is 94 feet long. It was hanging in a BIG room that looked like you were under the ocean. We saw lots of fossils, lots of stuffed animals, like elephants, zebras, walrus, and more. There was just so much stuff to see we got tired!

After we left the museum we went across the street to Central Park and played. There are lots of rocky hills to climb on. Uncle Josh and Molly and I climbed. Grama Jo and Papa just sat and rested. I got a snowcone to eat and it was good. It was pretty warm today so the ice was good. I shared it with everyone. We talked to my mom from the park. She and Beck and Sujina have gone to see Aunt Jan. She said Beck was not happy that Papa was not at home.

We got to ride in another cab to come back to Molly's apartment. You have to go up 3 sets of stairs to get to her house. She has two different keys. One key unlocks the doors at the street and one unlocks her apartment. You can be in her apartment and if someone comes and rings the buzzer we can push a button and let them in. It is pretty neat. You have to be quiet though because people live all around you.

After supper we went back down to the park and Molly and Josh played with me on the swings and climbing stuff. Molly slid down the pole with me too and got on the tire swing with me. Uncle Josh made us go around and around. We got dizzy but it was fun. I really liked chasing the pigeons in the park. We walked back to the outdoor place to have ice cream (they have some REALLY good yellow vanilla ice cream and it comes in a funny bowl with a little plastic stick to eat it with!) and then came home for a shower and bed.

More fun tomorrow.
